BTS with Dr. Jenna

Here is the set up for one of the shots with Jenna, one Quadra put through a 27" softbox. Mix in a little natural light and the heavy lifting is done and then you get to spend more time concentrating on your subject.

I recently met a new chiropractor in Bemidji that teaches yoga classes and plays the guitar as we as many other hobbies.  We started with the yoga and guitar images and these are some of my favorites.

I used an Elinchrom Quadra on all of these images with a 27" softbox except the second image from the top, for that I swapped out the softbox for a long throw reflector to create the shadows.

 I did a shoot with some new friends the other day where we got this nice head shot of Kim. It was a very simple set up with the 53" octa table topped above her and then a reflector just out of frame on the bottom as you can see in the production shot below.

These images are about 10 years old. It was the first time I got to work with a stylist and a hair and make up person. At this point I was working with a Mamiya RZ67, I loved that camera it made me feel like Herb Ritts. I was working with a big 2400ws Speedotron power pack and a single large (60") umbrella. 

Something from this fall.

This are some images from an assignment I did this past fall for AirCorps Aviation that is working on rebuilding a world war II fighter plane

 In this image I placed an Elincrom Quadra with the diffusion cover on it with a full CTO gel on it right of the machine and fired it in through a window on the end of it.

 For this one I used mostly natural light but placed the Quadra on the other side of the plane and pointed at the top of the engine above the mechanics head.

This is probably one of my best group shots and it was actually pretty simple for light. I had the Quadra in a 27" square softbox camera left and placed a Nikon SB-900 behind the engine to bring up the background detail.

Recently I have been doing a lot of shooting in the studio and here is some of those images I shot with my friend Caitlin. 

 53" octa camera left on a C-Stand shot with a Nikon 50mm

Typical glamour solution 53" octa above Caitlin  on a C-stand, a gold tri grip reflector at waist level. Shot with Nikon 70-200mm.

 Same light as the previous image except I added a Nikon SB-900 zoomed to 200mm to cast the hard shadows on the background. Shot with a Nikon 70-200.

Caught her in a beam of natural light coming in through the studio window.
